Press Accreditation for Kiruna Ministerial Meeting Closed April 22, 2013Sweden 14-15 May the Arctic Council will hold its biennial Ministerial Meeting in Kiruna in northern Sweden. Press accreditation for the meeting is now closed. It will also be possible to follow the meeting via webcast on the Arctic Council homepage. More details will be available soon. Approximately 300 people – Ministers, delegates from the eight Arctic states, indigenous peoples, working groups, and observers – will gather in Kiruna to mark the end of the two-year Swedish chairmanship and the beginning of the Canadian chairmanship. Beginning 14 May the working groups of the Arctic Council will present themselves and their work in general terms at "Folkets hus" (Community Center) in Kiruna. This event is open to the public and media. The Ministerial Meeting will take place in the morning of 15 May in the Kiruna City Hall. A press event will be held directly following the meeting. After this delegates and media will visit the LKAB iron-ore mine where the working groups will present their assessments and policy recommendations.
